2021 Annual Conference Call for Abstracts
The 96th MWEA Annual Conference is June 27-30, 2021 at Boyne Mountain Resort. Abstracts are now being considered from all aspects of the water sector. (We especially encourage all innovative projects!)
We are seeking abstracts in the following topics: Climate Change | Collection Systems | Decentralized Wastewater Treatment | Disinfection | Facility Operations and Maintenance | Future Insights | Government Affairs | Great Lakes | Groundwater | Hot Topics | Industrial Issues and Treatment Technologies | Laboratory Practices | Leadership | Employee Development | & Human Resources | Michigan Issues | Municipal Wastewater Treatment Process and Design | Public Health | Research & Innovation | Residuals & Biosolids Management | Stormwater Management | Sustainability & Energy Management | Utility Management | Water Reclamation & Reuse | Watershed Resources Management
The MWEA Annual Conference can only be Michigan's Water Quality Event of the year with YOUR submissions.
- Presenters shall provide a brief abstract (500 words or less) summarizing their talk. The abstract shall include the presentation title along with other requested information listed on the following pages.
- Presentations shall be 20 to 25 minutes in length, and allow 5 minutes for questions and answers.
- Presenters are asked to utilize MS PowerPoint software for the visual aid. A laptop computer and projector will be made available. Presentations will be required to be submitted electronically three (3) weeks prior to the conference.
- The MWEA Program Committees will review all abstracts. The corresponding author of each abstract will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of the proposed paper by February 1, 2021.
- There is no limit to the number of abstracts that may be submitted by an individual or company/utility.
- Membership in MWEA is not required for presentation.
- Presenters do not need to pay conference registration fees for the day that they are presenting. Attending additional days of the conference may require a registration fee.
- Presenters normally are not reimbursed for travel expenses nor receive honoraria.
- Presenters may be asked to provide a recorded version of their presentation in the case of a hybrid online & in-person event.
