Regional Training Webinar - Upgrade Your Open Government Skills: A Refresher on Public Meetings & Records Law
8/20/2024 - 8/20/2024

Upgrade Your Open Government Skills: A Refresher on Public Meetings & Records Law

Don't get caught in a legal quagmire! Join us for an engaging and informative OGFOA regional training that will refresh your knowledge of Oregon's public meetings and records laws. We'll focus on demystifying public meetings, including when quorum is required, procedural requirements, and the ins and outs of proper noticing procedures (including special requirements for budget actions). We'll also go over which records must be kept, how long they must be retained, and the best practices for making them accessible to the public. The training will include common mistakes and share strategies to avoid them, ensuring your compliance with the law. The training will end with a Q&A session to answer your burning questions.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to the government arena, this training will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to navigate Oregon's public meetings and records laws with confidence.

This is a free training that does not award CPE. A link to the training will be sent the day before the session and we will use the zoom platform.
