Join the CACFP Roundtable and your fellow members for a facilitated discussion about the recently published proposed rule about Serious Deficiency in the CACFP and Summer Food Service Programs. We'll be using our member meeting time to do this as it will be top of mind and we all want to be prepared to provide our public comment by May 21st! We'll use the whole two hours for this discussion and CDSS CACFP Branch will join us to understand your thoughts and perspectives as they consider their own comments for USDA FNS to consider.
Read this Issue Brief to get a background on what serious deficiency is, the challenges shared from the community, and some ideas of what could (or not) make it better?
We'll be using our deliberative forum format for this discussion. We are using this format to 1) understand the different experiences of the operators of CACFP with the serious deficiency process and thoughts on the proposed rule, and 2) think about together, as a representative community, what we want the serious deficiency process to look like for future of CACFP! We encourage all components of CACFP, all perspectives, and all levels of experience to participate in this discussion. CACFP policy impacts all of us and your voice matters. Have a seat at the table!
