Join with Drs. Lakia M. Scott (NAME President) and Steven Lysenko (NAME President-Elect and Conference Planning Chair), for a conversation about how we can build the 2026 NAME Conference together by submitting a proposal or serving in a volunteer role.
At NAME, our conference is strengthened by the collective leadership of our members. This session is an opportunity to learn about this year’s best practices for crafting a proposal that contributes to our shared scholarly inquiry, and to explore ways you can support the conference as a reviewer or session host.
During this session, we will discuss:
• Crafting Competitive Proposals: Learn about this year’s format and writing rubric and how to develop a proposal that contributes meaningfully to our shared scholarly inquiry and strengthens our field.
• Serving Through Volunteer Leadership: Discover how you can shape the conference experience by serving as a reviewer or session host. These essential roles are the heartbeat of our community, ensuring that diverse voices are elevated and that our collective work continues to move the field forward.
This interactive session will provide an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and connect with colleagues who are helping to shape the 2026 conference. We hope you will join us and take part in building this year’s conference together.
