National Association for Multicultural Education

Friday, June 26, 2026, 8:30:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST
Framingham State University

The National Association of Multicultural Educators (NAME) Region 1 2026 Conference Planning Committee invites activist P-16+ educators, students, teacher candidates, and other service providers to advance their capacity for engaging in the work of critical multicultural education by joining us at a regional conference to be held at Framingham State University, Framingham, MA, on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Lunch is included in the registration fee.

This year’s theme, Cultivating Hope: Growing in Hands, Hearts, and Minds for Equity and Justice, calls conference participants into a shared space of learning, reflection, and action. This theme centers the belief that meaningful progress toward equity and justice requires an integrated approach: engaging what we do (hands), how we connect and care (hearts), and how we think and learn (minds). Throughout the conference, participants will explore practical strategies for advancing equity, deepening understanding through critical inquiry and dialogue, and strengthening relationships rooted in empathy, accountability, and collective care. Together, we will examine systems of power and oppression, uplift community wisdom, and cultivate the skills and commitments needed to transform our institutions and communities.

Cultivating Hope invites us to move beyond awareness toward sustained, hopeful action- planting seeds of justice, tending them with intention, and growing a future grounded in dignity, belonging, and shared responsibility. We invite students, educators, and community service providers (and their friends) who are engaged in this work in New England, New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico to join us for a day of stimulating and validating connection and discourse!
