Event Description
Join the National Association of Waterfront Employers from May 18-22, 2026 for our annual fly-in, NAWE on the Hill. This three-day event will bring together NAWE members in Washington, D.C. to blanket Capitol Hill and advocate for NAWE's legislative priorities to Members of Congress and their staffs. NAWE on the Hill is our opportunity to connect face to face with leaders in Congress and federal agencies to introduce ourselves, build relationships with staffers, and elevate our priorities and initiatives. A draft itinerary of the week is listed below.

Monday, May 18 

  • Attendees arrive to town 

Tuesday, May 19 

  • 10:00am – NAWE on the Hill Prep Session
    • ​In this meeting, we will cover our 2026 legislative priorities, teams, talking points, effective meeting tips, and answer any questions you may have. 
  • 2:00pm – 5:00pm – NAWE Board of Directors Meeting 
  • 6:45pm – NY Mets v. Washington Nationals 
    • We have reserved several tickets for the Nats baseball game. Tickets will need to be individually paid for via invoice.

Wednesday, May 20 

  • Breakfast 
  • 9:00am – Group photo on Capitol Steps (Senate Side) 
  • 9:30am – 5:00pm – Meetings on Capitol Hill  
  • 5:30pm – 7:30pm – National Maritime Day Reception on Capitol Hill 

Thursday, May 21 

  • Breakfast 
  • 9:00am – 5:00pm – Meetings on Capitol Hill 
  • **5:00pm – Informal Happy Hour at Hawk ‘n’ Dove 

Friday, May 22 – National Maritime Day 

  • **9:00am – Tee Time at The Country Club Woodmore (12320 Pleasant Prospect, Mitchelville, MD 20721) 
  • We are working to finalize a tee time for those who are interested in participating in a round of golf with industry colleagues.
