2025 Fall Training: From Awareness to Empowerment: Understanding and Overcoming Implicit Bias
10/16/2025
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM PST

Event Description
Implicit bias is a natural part of the human experience, but when left unexamined, it can have a significant impact on our interactions, decisions, and the world around us. In this session, we'll move beyond simply defining implicit bias and delve into a deeper exploration of its origins and effects.

Through open discussion and shared experiences, we'll confront the difficult but necessary questions: Where does implicit bias come from? How does it manifest in our daily work and on campus? And, most importantly, what can we do to mitigate its influence? This isn't a lecture; it's a collaborative space where we'll unpack the complexities of bias together, learn from one another's perspectives, and build a collective understanding.

Together, we'll explore practical strategies and actionable tools that you can use to identify your own biases and make more conscious, equitable choices. This session is designed to transform awareness into empowerment, giving you the confidence to not only recognize implicit bias but to actively challenge and overcome it.
