NMA Family Mediation Training

This advanced training builds on Basic Mediation Training and provides 30+ instructional hours over four days, plus an introduction period. It prepares mediators to assist separating families in creating or modifying parenting plans due to life changes such as children maturing, parental circumstances shifting, or new partners entering the family dynamic.

While the training covers property, finance, and child support, its core focus is developing skills to mediate family conflicts. Role plays introduce private and joint mediation sessions using real-world parenting plan issues. This training also lays the groundwork for those pursuing further education in family mediation.

A key section covers domestic violence, including power dynamics and techniques for screening out cases inappropriate for mediation due to domestic violence or child abuse.

Certification & CLE Credit
Completing this course meets Nebraska Parenting Act mediator training requirements, including family violence screening. It has previously qualified for CLEs for attorneys, including ethics hours—contact us for details.
