Speaker:
   Zina Rodriguez, MSW, MCAP, CDE is a social worker and a certified diversity executive. She collaborates with organizations on the development of Diversity Equity Inclusion Belonging (DEIB) strategies that align with their mission and values. She is a global speaker on topics related to culturally inclusive treatment and healthcare. She is passionate about co- creating inviting, intentional and inclusive healing spaces for individuals to achieve wellness while creating pathways for success for individuals from underrepresented communities. Zina serves as a Board Member for the National Association of Treatment Providers, Young People in Recovery, C4 Recovery Foundation and Simplifyance. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University School of Social Work and holds a MSW from Fordham University and a BSW degree from Rutgers University.

Course description:  Culturally responsive care is the intentional and consistent decision providers make to see, respect, and celebrate the aspects that make each person unique.  In this workshop we will expand on the concepts of culturally competent care and discuss how culturally responsive care practices can enhance clinical delivery of care for diverse communities.

Participants will be able to:
  1. describe how cultural responsiveness enhances proficiency in clinical skills, programmatic development and administrative practices.
  2. list the core competencies providers must have to effectively serve diverse patients, families and communities.
  3. explain implicit bias can impact the clinical relationship and how to mitigate harm

In order to receive credit for this course participants must complete the following requirements:
  • attend entire course
    • sign into zoom for entire webinar - phone participation will not be accepted to receive credit
    • partial credits not allowed
  • complete program evaluation
    • must be completed within 7 days of completion of course
    • certificate of completion will be awarded upon receipt

We encourage participation by all individuals.  If you have a disability or other special requests (dietary, visual, hearing, physical, etc.), please indicate your request in the designated section included in registration process. We will do our best to accommodate you, please allow a minimum of 14 days notice to allow us time to process your request.   

Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted in writing via email. Requests made more than 10 business days prior to course date will be subject to an administration fee of $15 of the registration fee if an additional cost is associated with the course.  Membership fees will not be refunded if member is not able to attend conferences that are included with annual fee.  Refund requests made less than 10 business days prior to any course that requires an additional fee for the course are subject to a $25 administrative fee.  This is to cover the costs associated with the course that have already been accrued based on preregistration.  No refunds for non-attendance will be issued on the day of, or after, the conference.

Cancellation Policy
If MSCC cancels a course that requires an additional registration fee, all members who have prepaid for the course will be refunded the registration fee in the form of the original payment within 30 business days of the cancellation of the course.   MSCC membership fee will not be refunded.
