Join NWAFP on March 19, 2026 at the Washington Athletic Club for our first in-person meeting of the year.   At the March meeting, we are hosting two exciting sessions followed by a Happy Hour.

First Session: The Role of the Federal Reserve
In this presentation, attendees will gain an understanding of the role of the Federal Reserve and how its structured, including the role of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), which sets monetary policy. Key policy tools will be discussed as well as the inputs that go into monetary policy. The session will also cover the Fed’s broader roles in supervising banks, maintaining financial stability, and providing payment services. The presentation will also provide an overview of the Federal Reserve Financial Services organization within the Federal Reserve and its responsibilities managing critical payment services, including the FedNow Service, its new instant payments infrastructure.

Second Session:  Fraud: An FBI Perspective - Special Agent Ethan Via will provide an overview of current fraudulent schemes targeting the United States and the State of Washington. He will discuss the most common schemes impacting businesses and individuals today, how to recognize and avoid them, and the proper steps for reporting incidents to the FBI.
