National Conference on Volunteering & Service and NAVPLG Session & Annual Meeting, June 19-21
NCVS is in Seattle, Washington, and NAVPLG's Session, "Volunteer Leaders in Government Settings," is Monday, June 19, 8:30-10 am.
NAVPLG invites all who manage volunteers in city, town, and county programs to participate in a discussion of trends and issues unique to the government setting. Interactive session includes NAVPLG's annual meeting to introduce new officers and present awards that recognize outstanding volunteer managers and programs from around the county. Take advantage of this opportunity to network and learn from peers in a variety of similar yet specialized areas of focus. Register early to secure a seat.
Emergency Management Manuals
Jeri Bush, the Director of VolunteerLEON and a NAVPLG Board member, believes that every community need to be prepared for Disaster Management, including setting up a Volunteer Reception Center. She offered to share two manuals that the County of Leon FL uses to train their staff. Check them out in the "Resources" tab.
