Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position performs a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance duties supporting electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and computer systems within the City’s wastewater reclamation facility, lift stations, and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on electrical and instrumentation systems
• Install and modify circuits, conduit, and wiring based on blueprints and specifications
• Maintain and repair equipment including motors, VFDs, PLCs, generators, MCCs, and control systems
• Test, calibrate, and adjust process control instruments and microprocessor-based devices
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and verify repairs through testing
• Maintain logs, records, and documentation
• Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space protocols
• Support general facility upkeep, including cleaning, landscaping, and snow removal
• Respond to emergency call-outs and participate in on-call rotation


Qualifications:
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain required certifications (Ohio EPA Class 1 Wastewater Operator within 2 years)

Preferred Certifications (by level)
• Technician I: CWEA Grade I Plant Maintenance Technologist
• Technician II: CWEA Grade II E/I License
• Technician III: CWEA Grade III E/I License

Skills & Knowledge
• Electrical systems, SCADA, and wastewater treatment equipment
• Troubleshooting and repair of complex machinery
• Knowledge of National Electric Code
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills


Comments:
This position is Civil Service and is also included in the collective bargaining agreement for Water Reclamation employees represented by Teamsters Local 436. The position offers a pay range of $34.97- $38.47/hour based on qualifying certifications.
