The City of Columbus, Columbus Water and Power, Division of Water is accepting applications for a vacant full-time Plant Maintenance Electrician I. This position will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment (up to 15kVA) as well as associated systems and devices at remote tanks and booster stations. This position will perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment including generators; troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems and equipment using wiring diagrams, schematics, and testing equipment; climb heights up to 200 feet safely or utilize aerial equipment safely to access work; collect data, maintain records, and utilize a CMMS software program; and perform general housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, inventory, organizing, or snow removal.
To qualify, you must have two (2) years of experience troubleshooting, installing, and repairing 3-phase electrical equipment in an industrial facility. Substitution(s): Successful completion of a formal classroom or apprenticeship training program in the general principles of electricity may substitute for six (6) months of the required experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have two (2) years of experience troubleshooting, installing, and repairing 3-phase electrical equipment in an industrial facility. $30.01 - $46.38 hourly.
