This is a full-time position that will include the management of Hastings Wastewater Treatment Plant. Duties will include but are not limited to; sample collection and laboratory analysis, control of chemical, biological and mechanical processes, mechanical troubleshooting, and maintenance, tending and maintaining process equipment, maintaining records and reporting, general housekeeping, and grounds maintenance.
Qualified candidates will have management experience, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, as a team, and interact effectively with current city staff, clients, and the public. The successful candidate will have high mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a physically demanding job that requires both indoor and outdoor work.
The starting annual salary is $75,000.00 but will be based on experience.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications to Apply (must have)
• Class B wastewater operator certification
• Live within a 40-mile radius of Hastings MI or consider relocation
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes working overtime, holidays, weekends, and being on-call 24 hours a day for emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Must possess a valid MI driver’s license in good standing, also must maintain a license in good standing at all times to maintain employment.
