Details:
This is a supervisory position involving working foreman duties for the assurance of adequate treatment of wastewater and combined sewer overflow control. Duties involve monitoring and inspecting pumping station, plant equipment and processes; supervision, training and assignment of work to plant operators; record keeping; analysis of chemicals, samples and supplies; and inspection of plant mechanical and electrical equipment.


Qualifications:
1. Good mechanical aptitude with some knowledge of electricity and pumping operations.
2. Must have two years experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
3. Must possess Class D operator certification for wastewater treatment; Class C certification preferred. Must obtain Class B operator certification within six years from date of placement into the Foreman position. Must maintain State certifications for wastewater treatment.
4. Supervisory experience highly desirable.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to deal tactfully with the public.
6. Ability to respond to plant emergency situations and use sound judgment in making decisions.
7. Must be able to wear respirators and self-contained breathing apparatus, work in confined spaces and at various heights and depths.
8. Experience with computers is desirable or willingness to be trained in use of computers.
