The Gull Lake Sewer + Water Authority is seeking an Executive Director as the current Director is retiring after 30+ years. Reporting to a 4-person Board of Directors, the Executive Director will plan, direct, manage and oversee the Gull Lake Sewer + Water Authority’s activities, operations and long-term planning. Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
 4-years prior utility management experience or equivalent, incl administrative experience.
 4-year college degree or equivalent, or obtain 4-year relevant degree within six-years from hiring.
 Demonstrated IT / GIS / Excel capability and understanding of integration of data within GIS.
 Demonstrated / documented proficiency in utility project management.
 Demonstrated / documented proficiency in writing and public presentation of complex issues.
 General Engineering + Customer Service practices and understanding.
 Knowledge of Water and Wastewater infrastructure issues / function.
 Ability to present concise ideas and recommendations to Board and to Public.
 Ability to utilize + understand technical drawings, GIS computer, maps + documents.

Created in 1980 by the Townships of Ross, Richland, Barry and Prairieville, the Authority collects wastewater from over 2400 customers in northeastern Kalamazoo County, Michigan, using a network of over 50 miles of collector sewers, 36 pumping stations, forcemains and associated trunk sewers. Wastewater is treated at the City of Kalamazoo Regional Wastewater Plant, under a long-term Authority / Kalamazoo agreement. The Authority provides complete system management, operations, repairs and upgrades. The current service district consists of the Townships of Ross, Richland, Cooper, Village of Richland and a portion of Charleston Township, plus the southerly portion of Barry and Prairieville Townships in Barry County, MI.
