WADE TRIM is a full service engineering firm consistently recognized for our award winning solutions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in Washtenaw County / Milan area to join our team.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, zero to three years or experience and a valid Michigan Driver’s License. A current wastewater license issued by the State of Michigan is preferred, but not required. Industrial certifications such as A1f, A1g, A1i, B2a, C3a or C3b and Water Certifications D-3, S-2 or F-2 are also desirable. The ability to obtain a Water Operator Certification through the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) is also desirable. Basic math, chemistry, and mechanical skills, along with basic computer skills are required. Candidates must be available to work weekends and be on call 24 hours/day, every other week. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Operate, and maintain water and wastewater collection systems Operation, maintenance and management of potable water and wastewater treatment systems
• Maintain street and park systems
• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records on a daily basis
• Perform lab testing
• Collect and analyze water samples
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Prepare reports
• Maintain various valves and flow control devices
• Maintain Village parks and equipment as needed
• Perform water meter reading tasks using electronic hardware
• Inspect installation of water services
• Repair broken water lines
• Maintain accurate records of equipment operation and utility usage
• Communicate with residents, township officials and supervisors within the company
• React to standby or emergency call-out situations in a timely manner
• Superintend emergency responses as needed
• Maintain standard professional ethics
• Assist Project Manager
• Maintain excellent client and public relations
• Maintain a safe working environment
