A Message from our President
Anthony Morrone
Director of Financial Aid
Nevada State College
Happy Thanksgiving, WASFAA!
I am very thankful to be part of an association with such dedicated and generous members, who have grown to be a second family after so many years in the profession. This month we were grateful to have hosted two successful events, the annual Jerry R. Sims Management and Leadership Institute (MLI) and the new Rebekah Hoppel Salcedo Leadership Development Program (LDP).
In November, 40 WASFAA colleagues gathered virtually for the Jerry R Sims Management and Leadership Institute. Each attendee received a care package with books and fun items to add to the experience. We played with Play-Doh, built things with Legos and roasted marshmallows over candles to make s’mores.
The Ethnic Diversity Action, Membership and Electronic Services Committees worked together and made changes to the WASFAA member profile information to be more inclusive. We replaced ‘Gender’ with ‘Preferred Pronoun’ and replaced ‘Badge Name’ to ‘Preferred Name’. We encourage you take some time to login and update your information.
