The Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation, is pleased to offer several marketing opportunities for the year, giving interested partners the chance to plan in advance and allocate their marketing budget more effectively.
 
Foundation events are featured below, along with a description of the opportunity, its objective, the designated marketing contribution and the return on investment to be obtained by the partner. Opportunities are offered for any size marketing budget.

The Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association's annual Lodging Summit is our most exciting event of the year, where lodging operators from around the state of Oklahoma and their key team members have the opportunity to network with colleagues and others important to the success of their operation. The key components of the event include the association's Annual and Board of Directors meetings where our new Board of Directors is elected, Oklahoma's largest lodging Vendor Expo where operators meet with the top providers of products and services, and last but not least our prestigious Stars of the Industry Awards luncheon.

The Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association is excited to bring you a new opportunity in which to engage. The HospitAbilities Certification is a new program created in a partnership between the Oklahoma Restaurant Association and Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association. It is a skills-based hospitality certification for individuals with intellectual, emotional or physical disabilities. It was created to meet a major need in the Hospitality community in Oklahoma. The largest issue in our industry right now is workforce related, specifically in the areas of employee pool and entry level turnover. Statistics show that students who fit in the category of Ability 1(disabled), when trained well, will not only be great employees but they will STAY.

We learned there were Ability 1 students learning entry level hospitality skills through a program called Service Careers but that currently there was no formal curriculum or certification for that program. After evaluating the need, both Associations decided to partner together to launch the 18 essential service skills HospitAbilties program, which includes Industry-Endorsed Certification, Classroom Curriculum, Job Placement Assistance and Employer Training/Support. There are a variety of choices from or rolling silverware to dicing an onion or making a bed. In order to pass the certification a student must choose 7 skills to complete. Students are have the opportunity to test in April and November each year.

One of the definitions of hospitality is a friendly and generous welcome. As leaders in Oklahoma’s hospitality community, we are dedicated and look forward to welcoming students with their HospitAbilities certification into our workforce and want to encourage them on their journey to be hospitality superstars and ambassadors!

Plan to support the first event of the new year Hospitality Day at the Capitol & "A Tasteful Affair" Legislative Reception - and help us mark the start of Oklahoma's legislative session! 
The hospitality industry is the driving force in Oklahoma's economy, generating enormous tax revenues, providing jobs for hundreds of thousands of Oklahomans, and giving time and money back to their communities. At the same time, it’s vital that we maintain good relations with legislators so that our perspective on various bills and issues is given thoughtful consideration.

In February, members of the Oklahoma Restaurant Association, Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association, and Oklahoma Travel Industry Association will join forces for Hospitality Day at the Capitol, where we will spend time speaking to legislators about issues facing our industry. 

Later that evening, you’ll mingle with more than 600 members and legislators while we do what we do best - demonstrate Oklahoma hospitality - at a bigger and better-than-ever "A Tasteful Affair" Legislative Reception. "A Tasteful Affair" features more than 20 of Oklahoma's finest restaurants showcasing their culinary tastings at what is heralded as the state’s most successful and best attended legislative reception.

Want to each not only the foodservice industry, but Oklahoma's two largest dining communities? Growing in popularity, our two Odyssey fundraising and awareness dinners are held to benefit the Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation 501(c)3. Five top chefs from Oklahoma City and five top chefs from Tulsa, each create an elegant evening of delicious food and fine wine to support hospitality education. Culinary students are selected from Oklahoma ProStart® to learn and gain experience alongside the chefs. This is the ORA's only event open to the public and more than 380 people are in attendance. All contributions are deductible as allowed by law.

Each quarter, OH&LA general managers and lodging owners meet to discuss Oklahoma focused industry issues and initiatives. This is your opportunity to be the exclusive sponsor of our lunch program in Tulsa, held in conjunction with the OH&LA Quarterly Meeting.

The OHLA presents this Annual Award Competition, which was created to honor the outstanding professionals in Oklahoma’s lodging industry.
