Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement

Speaker for 'The Future is Now: Tech trends ..... ' - AL!VE
Proposals are now being accepted until March 6, 2019 to be a presenter for the 'The Future is Now - Tech Trends Transforming 2020 and Beyond' streaming conference presented by AL!VE, Better Impact, and VMPC. Now in its fifth year, this event is the leading online event for our industry. Last year's event involved more than 35 remote locations and 1,000 attendees in North America. Our current streaming event will consist of a 20 minute presentation followed by a moderated discussion with the other presenters (think Ted talk meets late night tv), including responding to questions from the audience. Presenters must be able to present to the camera and not read from slides. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

- Utilizing technology and social media in new ways to get the message out or attract volunteers to your cause
-Building connection over the internet
-Engaging diverse groups by leveraging technology
-Leveraging skilled groups with technology
-Balancing tech with relationships
-Boomers and Technology
-E-learning
-Engaging people virtually
-Maintaining boundaries
-Getting volunteers and staff on board with technology

Presenters are welcome from those with or without Volunteer Management experience, but should be versed in the current challenges of the profession.

Presenters will be chosen by the Conference Committee, with representatives from AL!VE, Better Impact, and Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada.

You will present from Hamilton, Canada (near Ontario) on two separate days, October 22 and 23 as the broadcast will present to Eastern/Central/Atlantic time zones on October 23 and Pacific/Mountain on October 22. Presenters should plan on arriving early afternoon of October 21 and departing October 23 after five pm.

The broadcast will be streamed live to more than 50 remote locations in the United States and Canada, with the likelihood of an audience of 1000 or more. One of the goals of this event is to provide quality, high level professional development events in local areas where access and resources may be limited to local associations of volunteer engagement professionals, volunteer centers, or other entities with an interest in professional development for those who engage volunteers.

Presenters selected to be a part of this unique online event will be paid a stipend of $2000.00 US. Meals and ground transportation are included; transportation and lodging are on your own.
