2018 New Volunteer Administrator Award Nomination
The NAVPLG Outstanding New Volunteer Administrator Award was established to honor a Volunteer Administrator with three or fewer years of experience in management of volunteers in local government, who reflects the high ideals of the profession and whose dedicated efforts allow volunteers to produce significant achievements. Membership in NAVPLG is required to be considered for this award.

The award will be presented at the NAVPLG Annual Meeting during the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in Atlanta, Georgia, June 18-20, 2018.

The winner will also receive a plaque and a complimentary membership into NAVPLG for the coming year.


Outstanding New Volunteer Administrator Award Purpose: The NAVPLG Outstanding New Volunteer Administrator Award was established to honor a Volunteer Administrator with three or fewer years of experience in management of volunteers in local government, who reflects the high ideals of the profession and whose dedicated efforts allow volunteers to produce significant achievements. The winner of the award will receive a plaque and a complimentary membership into NAVPLG for the coming year. The award will be given at the NAVPLG Annual Meeting held at the NCVS. Winners will be notified. Eligibility: Nominees must be a program manager of local government volunteers in a city, county, township, borough, parish or other local government entity in the United States for a maximum of three years. Membership in NAVPLG is required to be considered for this award. Award Criteria:
o Demonstration of excellence in one or more areas of volunteer management: o Effective use of leadership skills
o Creative utilization of people, resources and opportunities
o Ability to assess the needs, skills and interests of volunteers and inspire them to develop their potential
o Understanding of organizational needs and goals and how these can be achieved through effectively engaging volunteers
o The ability to match the needs of the volunteers with the needs of the organization o A strong sense of professional ethics
o Ability to mentor youth and/or peers
o The nominee's role in advocating for volunteerism in local government o Other community or volunteer involvement outside the nominee's professional responsibilities. A narrative statement of not more than 500 words that describes the nominee. Supplementary material may be submitted electronically to leigh.kottwitz@CoMo.gov to be added to the nomination. These materials may include letters, testimonials, news clippings, pamphlets, etc. Submitted materials become the property of NAVPLG.
