To serve on the board of directors, an individual must meet the following criteria, as set forth in the WSAMA Bylaws, Section 1(A):

Admitted to the practice of law in the State of Washington
Has paid annual membership dues
Serves in one of the following capacities:
1. by election, appointment, employment, or contract, as a city attorney or prosecutor or assistant or deputy city attorney or prosecutor for any city or town within the State of Washington; or
2. as an attorney practicing municipal law devoted to representing and/or advancing the interests of Washington cities and towns.
