Understanding Infiltration and Inflow (I&I): Treatment Process Impacts and Permit Compliance- Allyn
7/21/2026
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST

Infiltration and inflow (I/I) can significantly affect the operation, performance, and regulatory compliance of wastewater treatment and collection systems. Excess clear water entering sanitary sewer systems through groundwater infiltration, stormwater inflow, damaged infrastructure, or improper connections can create hydraulic overload conditions that challenge both collection systems and treatment facilities.

This course provides operators, technical assistance providers, municipal staff, and utility personnel with a practical understanding of how I/I impact wastewater treatment processes, plant stability, and permit compliance.  In this class, students will be participating is a hands-on smoke test of a collection system. Bring your safety vest!
