About the conference

Founded in 1969 to connect aid administrators and promote student access, WASFAA is one of six regional financial aid associations. WASFAA represents over 1,000 financial aid and higher education administrators from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Palau, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands and other United States territories in the Pacific.     Each year, WASFAA members gather in the spring to learn and share ideas. The 2020 conference program will feature keynote speaker Sandy Baum. Sandy will use economic concepts and reasoning to lead a discussion of some of the most pressing enrollment and financing issues facing institutions today. She will focus on the logic of need analysis and on issues such as affordability and student debt using an economic lens to analyze some of the policy proposals currently getting attention. Other conference highlights include a history of the Hawaiian Islands, updates from NASFAA, an update from the Department of Education, and the opportunity to network with business partners. WASFAA members, ED Trainers, NASFAA staffers and business solutions vendors will also present over thirty breakout sessions on a wide range of topics from verification to how to communicate more effectively.  Conference Fee is $375 for WASFAA members and $425 for non-members.
