Event Description

Risk to Reasons Black Women Social Workers' Task Force Application

As one of ViiV Healthcare Risk to Reasons grantees, we’re changing the narrative around HIV for Black women to go from “risk” to “reasons” for prevention. In the US, Black women are rarely prioritized when it comes to HIV but ViiV Healthcare Risk to Reasons initiative is looking to change the paradigm.

PASWHA will be implementing a Black Women's Social Work Task Force to develop and oversee trainings for organizations and providers to reframe HIV for Black Women and improve preventative care.
If you identify as a Black woman who is a social worker working in HIV/AIDS, and/or have lived experience living with HIV/AIDS, PASWHA invites you to apply to our Black Women’s Social Work Task Force. We are requesting all members to serve for at least one year.

This will be a great opportunity to improve prevention, retention, and care for Black women living with HIV/AIDS. Our hope is that the task force will aid in creating training over the course of 2 years and implement those training courses in the 3rd year. Your expertise is important and needed to help reframe HIV for Black women and improve preventative care.

ViiV Healthcare, Risk to Reasons grant sponsor this project.  As partners of this initiative, you are a part of our network committed to reframing “risk” to focus on “reasons” for HIV prevention and care for Black women. As a partner, ViiV Healthcare is offering you resources and tools to share the announcement more broadly with the communities you serve.
