11:30 am   Educational Program  - "Leading Volunteers with Confidence"

Working thirty years in volunteer management and collaborating with my peers, I recognize there is so much wisdom, knowledge and insight in this group. I am looking forward to meeting, connecting and learning with you as we discover how to create a welcoming experience for guests. volunteers, and staff. What challenges will we face? How will we approach things differently after this session? We will leave this session more empowered to reach our full potential in serving our communities! Let's create positive experiences for our neighbors, volunteers and staff teams!

• Speaker: 

  Heidi Port, CVA,  has been cultivating volunteer service in Oklahoma County for over thirty years. Whether mentoring volunteer leaders in recruiting, training, scheduling, or supervising, Heidi empowers staff members and volunteers to reach their full potential to serve the community. Her work focuses on developing and increasing communication as well as maximizing people skills for volunteers and their supervisors through her unique perspective.

  An experienced trainer both in libraries and other non-profit organizations like the Travelers Aid International Conference and local Central Oklahoma Volunteer Administrators group, Heidi is well-versed in engaging participants as they learn and grow. An elite status certified True Colors temperament and personality facilitator, Heidi brings a unique perspective to volunteer leadership.

  As Volunteer Coordinator for the Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma County, Heidi creates new avenues for community involvement, strengthening the community.
