May is Water Awareness Month! Take part in the Run 4 Water 5K, a 3.12 mile walk/run that can be completed between May 1 and May 31 by yourself or with your family at your convenience. You can choose how to participate: do you like to run or walk around your neighborhood, at your favorite park, or even on your treadmill? Any of these will work!
Purpose:
To celebrate Water Awareness Month, the Run 4 Water 5K will support MWEA Scholarships for students entering the water sector. Michigan is facing a shortage of water workers in the next few years and MWEA has pledged to "leverage knowledge to support clean and safe water." To that end, MWEA sponsors four scholarship programs to help with college expenses for students working toward a career in water.
Proceeds to benefit the following MWEA Scholarships
$5,000 - Jack H. Wagner Scholarship
$2,500 Antenore C. "Butch" Davanzo Scholarship
$3,500 - John P. Hennessey Scholarship
$1,000 - WRRT Future Leader Scholarship
$5,000 - Jack H. Wagner Scholarship
$2,500 Antenore C. "Butch" Davanzo Scholarship
$3,500 - John P. Hennessey Scholarship
$1,000 - WRRT Future Leader Scholarship

***Cancellation Policy:
1. Registration substitutions within the same organization are allowed; however, registration rates will be calculated according to MWEA membership status. Written cancellations received at least 7 days prior to the start of the event will be eligible for a refund. Cancellations received less than 7 days from the start of the event will receive no refund.
2. Under extenuating circumstances, a credit for training may be issued but is only redeemable for MWEA event registrations and must be used within the same calendar year. Credits are granted at the sole discretion of the Executive Director.
