Please join us for the 2022 OB COAP Online Annual Meeting on Thursday June 9, from 8:00 AM  4:00 PM PDT! Through this virtual meeting, we are excited to offer you a day of timely and informative topics presented through an equity lens, by authorities in the field from around the world and your colleagues from across the state.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Joia Crear-Perry, is a physician, policy expert, thought leader, and advocate for transformational justice. As the founder and president of the National Birth Equity Collaborative (NBEC), she identifies and challenges racism as a root cause of health inequities. She will be discussing how to use the tenets of Respectful Maternity Care to improve health equity for birthing people.
 
As we all know, the US has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality among high-income countries and rates are increasing. The US Maternal Vulnerability Index is a groundbreaking tool to help identify where and why mothers in the US are vulnerable to poor health outcomes. Hear from the experts at Surgo Ventures how utilizing this information in conjunction with OB COAPs clinical outcomes data can open new doors for actionable and sustainable improvements. We will also hear about efforts in our own and other states, as well as the UK, to use data to tackle adverse pregnancy outcomes attributable to socioeconomic and ethnic inequalities.
 
This year’s concurrent discussion sessions will tackle a wide variety of topics of interest to our audience members and a report out of the top takeaways will allow everyone to benefit. Our closing expert panel discussion will explore barriers to and opportunities for changing culture and addressing equity and lead us to a call to action for 2022!
