DRIE Ottawa December 2017 Quarterly Meeting

Please join us for our December meeting to be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 8:45 AM to noon at the RCAF Officers Mess, 158 Gloucester St. Ottawa.
Our first presenter is Jennifer Forsythe from the Service Canada part of Employment and Social Development Canada. Jennifer has been managing Employment and Social Development Canada’s (ESDC) Departmental Emergency Management and Business Continuity for more than four years. She will give a debrief of ESDC’s Senior Management Horizontal Chaos Tabletop Exercise that was held last year. It was a very large and complex tabletop exercise, designed and coordinated by ESDC’S Emergency Management and Business Continuity Division (EMBC) and involved over 100 participants. The tabletop exercise was designed to test whether the new horizontal BCP’s had the capacity to deliver services, and to satisfy ESDC’s ESFs, during a major systems disruption exceeding 30 days.
Back by popular demand, our second speaker is John Robertson, President of FORTLOG Services Inc. John’s topic is From Surviving to Thriving! - The S-H-I-F-T Approach to Creating a Resilient Workplace & Culture. This presentation will discuss John’s S-H-I-F-T approach to leadership and discover new tools to help your organization not only withstand crises and change but actually grow and thrive with each successive event.
In between presenters there will be our traditional networking/coffee break.
