Event Description
Description: This course provides an opportunity for classroom teachers of students in Grades 4 & 5 to learn strategies and acquire tools to advance students' mathematical reasoning. Aligned to research-based teaching practices and KAS, topics will include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and place value; the use of instructional routines including number talks; and the use of manipulatives, visual models and number lines. Participants will receive books, activities and instructional materials including a classroom number line. Participants will be expected to attend all 3 days of the course. 

NOTE: Based on current health/safety recommendations, all sessions of this professional learning event (PLE) will meet virtually and not in person. Because meeting online for 6 hours per day would not be favorable or even feasible for course participants, each day of this 3-day PLE has been broken down into two half-day sessions. 

Cost: $300/participant
Duration: 3 Days (6 half day virtual sessions.) 

SCHEDULE:

Days 1&2: (4 half-day virtual sessions)
    Tuesday - Friday, July 7 - 10, 2020
    9 am - Noon EASTERN TIME (which is 8 am - 11 am CENTRAL TIME)  
Day 3: (2 half-day virtual sessions)
    Tuesday - Wednesday, September 22 - 23, 2020
    Noon - 3 pm EASTERN TIME (which is 11  am - 2 pm CENTRAL TIME)  

* Registration cutoff date = June 12, 2020

* All materials will be shipped directly to the participant's home. Please ensure that a valid home mailing address is entered when completing a registration.
  
* Once materials are ordered and shipped, the registration fee is non-refundable.
