Join us this month for an open discussion and question/answer format with our panel of industry leaders and an economist from UW-Oshkosh.  Hear from this distinguished group on what they are seeing in the industry and local economy and what they expect for 2020 and beyond.  Take home knowledge and insight not only from the panel, but from fellow Chapter members as they bring their own questions and share their current situation and forecasts.  The goal of the panel discussion is to give our chapter members information to use now and into the future.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION |  The night's presentation will be started with a set of questions for our panelists to guide discussion.  From here, expect to have a lively, open, and honest question and answer discussion between our panelist, members, and suppliers.  

ABOUT THE PANELISTS | 
Mike Bartol, American Colloid / Minerals Technologies Inc.:  Mr. Bartol began his career in the foundry and silica sand industry in 1977 with the Chier St. Mary Sand Co. as plant manager.  He then spent time at Badger Mining Corp, AIMCOR, Unimin serving mostly in the regional sales and sales manager roles.   In 1995 he joined  American Colloid (now MTI), leading to his current position as Vice President Metalcasting Americas.  He worked to develop specialty silica sands and grades of chromite sand, some of his many contributions to the industry, lending to his technical paper presentations at various AFS and other technical societies.  He has been a longstanding member, committee member, and held several chairman roles of the AFS 4-F, 4-M, Molding Methods and Materials, 4-A, 4-B, and NEW Chapter.
Chad Cotti, PhD / UW-Oshkosh: Dr. Cotti is the Oshkosh Corporation Endowed Professor and Chair of the Economics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, as well as a Research Affiliate of the Center for Demography of Health and Aging at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He holds a B.S. in Quantitative Economics from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, an M.P.A. from the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Dr. Cotti’s research interests lie broadly within the area public policy, labor and health economics. His work has appeared in several leading journals in economics, including the Review of Economics & Statistics, Social Science & Medicine, the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Health Economics, and the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy. His research has also been covered by many prominent media sources, such as The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Boston Globe, USA Today, The New York Times Magazine, and The Washington Post.
Brian Johnson / Hickman, Williams, and Company:  Mr. Johnson began his foundry career at Grede Foundries (1998-2010) upon earning his Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from UW-Madison.  His roles included plant metallurgist, melt superintendent, and technical services manager.  In 2010 he joined Hickman, Williams & Company as a technical support and sales engineer.  He as since been promoted to Central Region Foundry Sales Manager (2016) and added to the company's Management Committee (2018).  An active member of AFS, he serves as Cupola Committee Chair.  He is also a board member of Ductile Iron Society (DIS), chair of the Papers and Publications Committee, and has offered numerous training sessions on metallurgy, foundry practice, and is a presenter at the Ductile Production Seminar by DIS in Chicago.
John Wiesbrock / Waupaca Foundry:  Mr. Wiesbrock started his career in manufacturing 34 years ago.  He has held numerous leadership positions in Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Supply Chain Management throughout his tenure.  After joining Waupaca Foundry in 2002, he was promoted to Sales Manager (2006), Director of Sales (2008), then Executive Vice President, Supply Chain Management (2014).  In 2016 he transitioned to his current role, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management.
