Wastewater Certification Training, WEDNESDAYS ONLY, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., January 28th through April 22nd (with the exception of April 15th)

Up to 60 educational hours

Traditional lecture and hands-on training, supplies included.

Member Tuition is $185 (a $65 discount which is equal to the State-Only Operator Membership to AWEA. We encourage participants to join AWEA and reap all the benefits of membership as well as this 60 hour class for a total of $250.)

Non-member Tuition is $250. Please see the member discount information to receive a year's membership for the same tuition price.

New Century Technology is Huntsville City School's STEM Magnet School specializing in biomedical science, computer science/cyber security, and engineering so it is only fitting that we celebrate STEM Day on Friday, February 13, 2026! Our STEM Day celebration will be held in the morning from 9am-11:30am.
STEM Day is designed to connect our scholars with local industry leaders and community partners who are shaping the future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Your participation would provide our students with valuable insight into real-world applications, career pathways, and workforce expectations while strengthening partnerships between education and industry.
New Century has around 400 students ranging from 9-12th grade. We will have students rotate sessions based on their grade level. We would like to invite you to join our STEM Career Fair portion of the day! We hope you will join us for our STEM Day celebration!!

Let's support and inform these high school students of the career opportunities in the water industry and your companies!
  • Location: Mae C. Jemison Auxiliary Gym
  • March 12th, 2026, 9am-11am 
  • 772 students expected to attend - four groups in 30 minute increments.
  • Teachers will accompany students.
  • Companies are there to engage students in conversation about career goals and what their company does. Also what level of post secondary work is necessary.

Education and NetworkingKimberly Polifka - Conference Coordinator


AWEA encourages members and interested friends and colleagues to join our monthly meetings around the state. The meetings are accessible remotely whether they are held in-person, at locations around the state, or totally online.

This meeting is held in-person in Mobile, Alabama on the last day of the AL/MS Water Joint Annual Conference. The link to remote access will be published here on Friday, Sept. 26th, 2025.
