The charter was presented by District Governor F.C. Williamson and accepted by charter President Robert M. Doughty, II.
 
History and Growth:
The club started with 25 charter members and our first new member, Steven F. Crowley, MD, who for technical reasons could not be a charter member – there were already three health-care-related charter members. The club grew rapidly, achieving a membership of 41 within the first year.

Certified Fiber Optic Technician Course (CFOT) $995

This introductory 3 day tech course is designed for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Fiber Optic Technician. This training combines theory and 85% hands-on activities to prepare the student to take the CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) test that is sanctioned by the FOA and given and graded on the final day. PREREQUISITE FOR SPECIALTY COURSES.

Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T) $895

This 2-day program is designed to offer advanced training to anyone involved with the testing and maintenance of fiber optics networks. A focal point in the program is to offer a general, easy to understand, approach to fiber optics testing standards with little theory and considerable hands-on activities. 

Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Splicing (CFOS/S) $895

This 2 day course includes a complete, in-depth, PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance of high performance splicing and further details the points necessary to achieve these splices. An overview of OTDR functions and trace understanding is also provided during this presentation. 85% hands-on classroom activities will provide training in both fusion and mechanical splicing of either single or multimode fiber optic cable.

Alamogordo’s MUFON chapter has a NEW meeting location for Coffee Cups & Flying Saucers in the Otero Artspace building on the corner of 12th & Indiana.  Everyone’s opinion is welcome without judgement regarding flying saucers, UFO, UAP, local sightings, Alamogordo aerial phenomenon history & unexplained experiences. The discussion is led by MUFON’s New Mexico Assistant State Director who brings the coffee. There is plenty of on street parking and our monthly meetings are open to the public free of charge. The Mutual UFO Network welcomes open discussion with all likeminded individuals.
