Dear OGFOA Members and Friends, Thank you for the incredible honor of electing me as your OGFOA President. I am truly grateful for your trust and support, and I’m excited for the year ahead as we continue strengthening our profession and our community together.
To all the members and guests who joined us at the Spring Conference in Sunriver—thank you for making it such a memorable and successful event. Your energy, participation, and dedication are what make OGFOA such a special organization.
We were also pleased to welcome Mickie Cooper, President of the Washington Municipal Finance Officers Association, and Stephen Parker, President of the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. Their visit highlights the strong partnership we share through the West Coast Alliance. If you weren’t aware, OGFOA is part of this alliance alongside Washington, California, Alaska, and Colorado. This collaboration allows our members to attend conferences and trainings hosted by these associations at member rates, expanding your opportunities for professional growth.
As we look ahead, I encourage all members to get involved with one of our committees:

• Membership Engagement and Development (MEDC)
• Legislative & Emerging Issues
• Hospitality
Committee participation is not only a great way to deepen your involvement and build connections, but it’s also a pathway to future leadership roles—including service on the OGFOA Board. If you’re curious about how you can contribute, please reach out to me. I would love to share more about these opportunities and help you find a place where your talents can shine.
Thank you as well to everyone who takes the time to complete our surveys. The Board carefully reviews this feedback, and your insights play an important role in shaping our decisions. If you haven’t heard, we will not be holding an in?person Fall Conference this year. Instead, we will be offering online training vignettes. If you’re interested in helping with these training sessions, please contact our Education Committee Chair.

My term as President came to an end of the conference at Sunriver. Thank you all for your kind words and support I do appreciate you all.
I continue to be on the Hospitality committee and still maintain that the best job at our conferences is taking lunch tickets at the door. You get to see everybody, they are in a good mood because they are going to lunch and you can make them laugh.
I will put in another plug that we have multiple committees to which you can belong. Accounting Standards, Certification, Education, Membership, Legislative & Emerging Issues and the aforementioned Hospitality committee. Serving on a committee really helps you give input into our organization, guide the content of our conferences and assist in bringing new members along in the profession. Remember to take advantage of the online learning opportunities as this year’s one conference will be in the spring in 2027 conference in Seaside. However, when you are at the Seaside conference make sure that you come and say hi when I take your lunch ticket. |

| 2026 OGFOA Fall Webinar Trainings
Trainings will be Tuesdays or Thursdays during the month of October. There will be 8 total offerings of 90 minutes each. Attendance will be verified in compliance with multiple continuing education requirements, and a certificate of attendance will be provided. Members will be able to register for the series or individual sessions. Member rate will be $255 for the series or $55 for individual sessions. Registration and program will be available in August. As a reminder these training will be taking the place of the Fall conference. If you have suggestions for trainings, please complete this short form.

OGFOA Recognizes Certification Program Participants |

Congratulations to the OGFOA members who were recognized at the 2026 Spring Conference in Sunriver for their various achievements related to the OGFOA Certification Program. The award for completion of the Professional Finance Officers Certification Program honors the time and effort that these individuals have put into their continuing education, as well as recognizing the contributions that they have made to OGFOA through participation on committees, the Board, and/or as presenters/trainers. Upon admission into the program, certification may be obtained by acquiring 145 points in various categories over a period of four years of less. The following individuals are in the process of earning their certification:
Mindy Holliday, Sunriver Service District Staci Trinh, Clackamas County Mark Adams, Washington County
The following individuals completed the requirements for their initial certification as of December 31, 2025 and were awarded a handsome plaque to commemorate this achievement: Jennifer Johnson, City of St Helens
Ron Harding, City of Aumsville Wendy Feth, Oregon Employment Department
Once certification is achieved it must be maintained by accruing 65 points in specific categories every two years. The following OGFOA members have completed the requirements for maintenance during 2024 and 2025, and are certified through December 31, 2027. |

Achieving Certification provides recognition of dedication to continuing education, personal and professional development, and excellence in government finance. Not only is there personal satisfaction in this recognition, but the finance staff, governing bodies, and citizens of the entities that employ these dedicated public servants also benefit. Certification enhances that employees values and credibility with their governing body and citizens. As a bonus, all Certification Program participants in good standing will receive a $25.00 discount on registration fees for OGFOA Conferences

West Coast Alliance Reception at GFOA Attention OGFOA Members Attending GFOA Conference in Chicago:
Oregon GFOA is teaming up with Alaska Government Finance Officers Association (AGFOA), California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO), Colorado Government Finance Officers Association (CGFOA), and Washington Finance Officers Association (WFOA) for this year's WCA Reception at the GFOA Annual Conference in Chicago.
The event will be at SPIN Chicago on Sunday, June 28, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM. There will be drinks, appetizers, and fun. We always have a great time seeing you at the GFOA Conference! Additional information and to RSVP! Deadline 6/19/26 |
