February meeting minutes
In attendance: Jackie Perrydore, Mike Walker, Sharon Hassett, Elaine Fleming, Mickey Edell, Dawn Parker, Matt Miller, Sue Bellows, Elaine Salter, Cathy Courtney, Dave Courtney, Natalie Thurmond
Call to order at 9:04am
Welcome to our new members, Sharon’s Heating & Air Conditioning and Kroopin’s Poopins Scoopin has rejoined.
January minutes approval: Sue Bellows first Natalie Thurmond second. Motion approved.
Treasurer’s report: $12904.46, income per report $13214.51 ending balance. Sharon Hasset first, Elaine Fleming second, approved and filed.
Now & Forever Florist had their grand opening. Several of us attended and found the shop really cute. The owner, LaWanda also helped decorate our Christmas tree at Radcliff. Current hours are by appointment, but the phone lines are always open.
Mission Statement - not only is our mission to help our business community, but also our local community. We are making measures to include the local part of community by joining other non-profits within our city. We will start with Rotary, Goodfellows, and Kiwanis, with the possibility of expanding into other agencies.
Ongoing business:
We donated ad space in the PTA annual meeting. Sue Bellows attended
Kiwanis Pig Races are March 7. GCBA has an ad in their program. We have 1 ticketsavailable if anyone in the GCBA would like to attend.
Save the date postcards for MITP have been ordered. We are pushing the advertising to make sure people are aware there are food trucks, vendors & games, as well as the band.
Elaine S - bands, food trucks. Bands are booked as well as 3 of the food trucks. We are looking for a 4th. El Jefe will not be able to attend in June
Elaine F - sent emails to all prior sponsors and we have heard back from several who have committed to sponsorships for this year
Jackie - we like to include an evening meeting at least 2 per year. We are looking at possibly May, at Radcliff.

Matt Miller - Community Development director. Lucky squirrel, Online registration this year. 100 vendors signed up so far for May.
Banner program - -they are accepting applications for 2026
Hometown Hero will also have Police & Fire this year
Sept 26 - Chili Cookoff. Matt looked into AI to determine how many attended last year and it was determined over 5500 people attended.
This year is an election year and they are looking for Election workers - we are in dire need. It’s a long day.
Natalie Thurmond, Shaklee Ambassador for Shaklee. Do you understand your blood test results?
Sue Bellows - AAUW/Plymouth Canton. They just completed their annual children’s play. This year was Snow White & the 7 Dwarves.
Cathy & Dave Courtney - GC Rotary. They are currently collecting food for our GC Pantries, the one at Burger and the HOME pantry.
Sharon - Straight Farmhouse: lots of craft classes coming up and Straight Farmhouse is available for rental
Elaine - Elaine’s gift baskets & more
Mike - Tax season is in full swing - come see him at Liberty Tax Ford Road & MIddlebelt
