Welcoming ISEE's Newest Councilors

We are pleased to welcome ISEE’s newest elected Secretary-Treasurer, Dr. Tamara Schikowski, IUF - Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine, and Councilors, Joan Casey, PhD, of the University of Washington School of Public Health (North America Chapter), and Maria Teresa Muñoz-Quezada, PhD, of the Universidad de Chile (Latin America Chapter). They will serve terms through 2028. 

 

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our outgoing Secretary-Treasurer, Michelle Turner, and Councilors, Professor Ruth Etzel and Dr. Maria Elisa Quinteros Cáceres, for their dedicated service and invaluable support of ISEE.

Conference News

Symposia and Workshop Deadline Extended 

Submit a pre-conference workshop or symposia proposal for the ISEE 2026 conference program. Pre-conference workshops are interactive meetings or educational sessions held on the first day of the annual conference, Sunday, August 30, 2026. Symposia are 90-minute discussion-based sessions that bring together experts to explore specific topics. These sessions encourage active audience participation and typically include four to five presenters.

 

Deadline extended to January 23. 

Award Nominations Now Open

It's that time of year again when we come together to recognize the outstanding contributions of our colleagues in the field of environmental epidemiology, and we would like your help in spreading the word. The ISEE 2026 Awards nomination process is now open here.

2026 Call for SNRN Conference Planning Committee

The SNRN is excited to kick-off planning SNRN activities for the #ISEE2026 Conference in Munich, Germany. Each year, the SNRN Conference Planning Committee works alongside society leaders to coordinate and execute activities for students and early career researchers. The SNRN Conference Planning Committee will meet every other week starting in February 2026 and more frequently leading up to the conference to discuss logistics. If selected, attending the SNRN Conference Planning Meeting is required. Meetings are conducted via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. 

 

We are seeking nominations for highly motivated early career researchers to fill up to eight coordinator positions. Details position descriptions are available on the application.

  • Advocacy Coordinator(s)

Serving on the SNRN Conference Planning Committee provides a valuable opportunity to 1) gain hands-on experience with ISEE operations, 2) strengthen leadership skills, and 3) expand your professional network through collaboration with trainees and seasoned researchers.

ISEE Past President Receives Doctor Honoris Causa Title From Democritus University of Thrace

Manolis Kogevinas, Research Professor at ISGlobal and past society president was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in December 2025, recognizing his academic career and contributions to public health-oriented research. Read more.

 ISEE – North America Chapter Conference 2026

We are excited to announce the calls for keynote speakers, symposia and abstracts for the 2026 NAC Regional Conference in Baltimore, Maryland (USA) on June 1 - 4, 2026. 

 

The goal of this conference is to bring together environmental health and epidemiologic scholars, practitioners, and government personnel located in North America to network with potential new collaborators. The 2026 meeting will also allow students and trainees to interact with prospective mentors and supervisors and present their work in a public forum.
