Board Nominations Now Open

Dear CDFI Coalition Members,

I write as Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee of the CDFI Coalition. We are seeking nominations for two vacancies on the Coalition board for At-Large Board seats. These seats are open to Banks, Credit Unions, Loan Funds, or Trade Associations. Now, more than ever, it is essential that the voices of CDFIs lead the discussion and are coordinated and active.

Under the CDFI Coalition’s bylaws, we have established three-year terms for the 15 elected board members. (The five trade associations are permanent board members.) Board members are allowed to serve two consecutive three-year terms.

Nominations for these seats, including self-nominations, may be submitted by Friday, January 16th at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Please send your nominations to Madison Smith, (madison@rapoza.org) with the name of the individual, name of the organization they represent, a resume or CV, and statement of interest/purpose.

I have attached a set of Board Member Qualifications and Coalition bylaws.

Only members whose dues are fully paid for the year may run for a Board seat – if you have any questions about your organization’s status, please contact Madison Smith at Madison@rapoza.org.

The Committee will review nominations and prepare a slate of candidates, which will be based on member qualifications and existing board composition. The proposed slate will be reviewed by the Coalition’s board and submitted to the membership for approval. The proposed slate will be available to members before the Annual Meeting.

The Committee will present the Board slate and provide an update at the Coalition’s Annual Membership Meeting, which will be held in conjunction with the CDFI Coalition Institute on March 18–19 in Washington, DC, at the Washington Plaza Hotel. Registration information for the Institute will be sent out soon.
