As we kick off 2024, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of getting involved and making the most of your GELSSA membership. This year, we are committed to delivering valuable networking, education, and advocacy opportunities at our quarterly events, and your participation is what makes them truly impactful.
Our first big event of the year—the Q1 Membership Meeting & Expo—is happening Friday, March 7th at the Governors Gun Club in Kennesaw, GA. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with industry peers, meet top-tier vendors, and gain insights to help grow your business. Pro-Install for Home Security Rebounds after the Pandemic:
New research from Parks Associates shows after rebounding from pandemic lows, pro-installation for security systems runs neck-and-neck with DIY among new system buyers.
"Leading up to and during the pandemic, self-installation of security systems overtook professional installation as the dominant method. However, leading providers have adapted by modernizing their online platforms and customer service to divorce the sale, which can occur online and does not require salespeople to the home, from the installation method. Plus, traditionally DIY system brands now offer pro-install options for those who need additional support.
As a result, professional installation is showing resilience, and clearly has value to at least half of the security system buyer base. There also may be seasonality at play: like smart security devices, DIY systems may see stronger sales as part of holiday purchasing in Q4 while pro-install systems may see stronger sales during the traditional home moving season in the summer." |
