PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Summer is officially upon us…the days are longer, the temperature is heating up, and so is our 2022 giving year grant review process. Our members who have volunteered to be on a Focus Area Committee (FAC) this year are deep in the throes of carefully reviewing grant applications submitted to us by nonprofits in our five focus areas – Arts & Culture; Education; Environment & Recreation; Family; and Health & Wellness. Stay tuned as they complete the grant review process to decide which nonprofits will be our 2022 Giving Year Finalists.

Remember to mark your calendar for November 6th which is the date of our 4th Annual Celebration. This unforgettable signature event is where our 663 members can all cast their individual vote to collectively decide which 2022 nonprofit grant finalists will receive a grant in the amount of $110,500!

It's incredible to reflect over the last 4 years since the founding of the Sarasota Impact100 chapter, that the passion of so many women has been ignited to empower one another. Together we are solving local problems, and we are uniting to affect meaningful and sustainable change in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. By the end of 2022, thanks to the generosity of our members, Impact100 SRQ will have given over $1.6 million to nonprofits in our local community.

I am forever grateful for the kindness and support that Impact100 SRQ receives from our members, Friends of Impact, and local community businesses who all support us and enable us to continue our mission: Empowering Women to Fund Transformational Grants

in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Jane

We are so proud that our President Jane Watt was one of 20 recipients of the prestigious "WOMEN WHO ROAR" honor for 2022 at a celebratory luncheon on May 13th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The Women Who Roar Initiative honors highly dynamic women in our community every year who catalyze leadership through networking, community service and the art of mentorship.

Another recipient of this prestigious award is Impact100 SRQ member Aurilla (Dee Dee) Fusco,

who serves our community with graceful tenacity, humor, and kindness.

Her accomplishments are only outpaced by the strength of relationships she builds while doing great things. We are so fortunate to have Dee Dee as part part of our Impact100 SRQ family!

Congratulations to all of the other incredible women who received the honor this year!

NONPROFIT INFORMATION

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

5 THINGS EVERY NONPROFIT SHOULD KNOW

ABOUT APPLYING FOR AN IMPACT100 SRQ GRANT

1.      IT’S NOT WHO YOU KNOW AT IMPACT100 SRQ!

It’s about the quality of your grant application and how well you describe your initiative, and how it will make a difference in our community. Hundreds of Impact100 SRQ members serve on our Focus Area Committees (FACs) and participate in our impartial grant review process.  Every grant application is viewed on its own merit and any reviewer’s bias is disclosed and managed accordingly.

2.     HUNDREDS OF IMPACT100 SRQ MEMBERS ARE EXPOSED TO AND EDUCATED ABOUT YOUR NONPROFIT’S MISSION EVERY YEAR

Even if you are not selected as a current giving year grant award finalist or recipient, many Impact100 SRQ members learn about your mission and programs for the first time through the grant review process. This can lead to bringing new supporters – and potential donors – to your organization.

3.     SITE VISITS ARE A KEY COMPONENT OF THE SELECTION PROCESS

Our Impact100 SRQ members relish the opportunity to have an in-person exposure to our potential grant recipients.  It enhances their understanding of your programs and missions and increases their knowledge of the various needs in our community.

4.      GRANT AWARD RECIPIENTS BENEFIT FROM 24 MONTHS OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADDITONAL SUPPORT FROM OUR MEMBERS

During this period, through a program called "Impact In Action", we encourage nonprofits to offer Impact100 SRQ members multiple opportunities to share their time, talent, and treasure to support the initiative they invested in.

5.      WE OFFER TRAININGS TO ASSIST WITH THE GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS

Impact100 SRQ hosts information sessions and workshops for nonprofits to learn more about our model and mission, grant cycles, and application process. It is our goal to help every nonprofit in Sarasota and Manatee County know about us and have access to the tools necessary to submit the best application possible.
