Event Description: Please join us for our next Diversity in Water Speaker Event, featuring Dr. Willie Harper. The Diversity in Water Speaker Series invites leaders in the water industry from diverse backgrounds to discuss their careers, lend us their life lessons, and help lead the discussion on championing diversity within the water industry and in our day-to-day lives.

Dr. Harper is an internationally-renowned expert in the area of water and sewage treatment processes. Before entering academia, Dr. Harper served as a process engineer with CH2M Hill, Inc. Current research projects focus on issues related to water infrastructure security, including toxic chemicals and biological weapons mobilized as viruses or spores. Research activity leverages traditional research approaches, such as mathematical modeling and laboratory-scale experimentation, augmented with modern tools from chemistry, microbiology, and computational chemistry. Dr. Harper has taught numerous courses in water quality, microbiology, and environmental policy and he has served as a visiting faculty member at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and at the Denmark Technical University.
