"The Role of Materials Suppliers in
Enabling Next-Generation Sensors"
Speaker: Anastasia Patterson, Research Investigator, DuPont
Summary: Our connected world is expanding to include new sources of data, providing rich analytical insights to consumers, businesses, and public agencies as they improve lives, logistics, and infrastructure. These capabilities are enabled by innovative sensor devices that perform novel functions, but which simultaneously strive towards smaller packages and lower cost. Delivering this performance requires collaboration between device makers and materials innovators, combining the essential elements of chemical design, material properties, and fabrication process integration. Using examples in optical and chemical sensing, we will discuss how sensing capabilities at DuPont are enabled by tailored material design approaches and close partnerships with device makers.
Speaker: Anastasia received the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Harvey Mudd College, with emphasis in Materials, a Ph.D., in Materials from University of California, Santa Barbara and was active as a Graduate Researcher at UC Santa Barbara on the Role of Monomer Sequence in Polymer Coatings and Self-Assembly.
