The morning’s presentation will focus on the variety of opportunities where mentoring is a good fit, critical elements of successful mentorship programs, tales of “when good mentor relationships go bad,” mentoring successes and best practices and the myriad of resources available to those desiring to create a program to meet needs and move the organization into a richer management and leadership structure.

NEO will present it’s Fourth“Rising Star” award to someone “new and shining” in our libraries!
After lunch and prizes,
Libraries Transform!
ALA Presidents have the opportunity to choose an initiative or focus during their presidency. Over the years we’ve experienced a variety of programs. ALA’s current president, Sari Feldman, has the distinct pleasure of her initiative launching ALA newest public awareness campaign – Libraries Transform. This campaign – as all should – is designed to bring understanding and awareness to all types and sizes of libraries.
In addition, this campaign offers the profession with unique opportunities to personalize the campaign with local slogans and library branding.
The Todaro initiative will be derived from the bigger campaign and will focus on the expert in the library, as well as the value of having a librarian within an organizational setting.
Todaro will present an overview of the current campaign and its success as well as reveal plans and products from her upcoming Presidential initiative.
