Event Description
Join us for a session focused on partnership and outcomes from Strengthening State and Local Science Policy, a cohosted program from NAAS and the National Academies in July 2026. Heidi Schweingruber, Patricia Cuff, Kara Laney, and John Holmes will discuss tangible opportunities for collaboration with the National Academies and there will be ample time for identification of new ideas.
This series of presentations and follow-on discussion will focus on how partners are engaging in policy and public engagement and what role for additional state, local and regional academies might be moving forward. The session will allow for connection with academies across the country and ideas surrounding regional programming on specific topics such as improving rural well-being, addressing PFAS in agriculture through conservation practices, and planning for the electricity system of the future.
