EVENT:

The workshop is designed to help participants:
1) Differentiate the distinction between ethics and laws. 
2) Recognize that just understanding code of ehtics is not enough. 
3) Demonstrate the Five Moral Principles. 

PRESENTER:

Dianne Taylor Dougherty, MS, CAGS, LCMHC-S
is a counselor, writer and speaker in Cary, NC with degrees from UNC-Greensboro, East Carolina University, Western Carolina University, and European Graduate School, Switzerland.  She has over 20 years experience in private psychotherapy practice with concentrations in Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, and Expressive Arts Therapy for individuals and has copyrighted seminars, books, and workbooks on those subjects. With experience in psychiatric hospital, Employee Assistance Program, government agency, college teaching, and private practice, Dianne Taylor Dougherty, LCMHC-S embraces an asset-based philosophy to treatment which incorporates an exploration of the Expressive Arts and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to promote individual healing. Dianne Taylor Dougherty, LCMHC-S is the author of Treating Divorce as Trauma©(2001); Multidisciplinary Treatment for Clergy Sexual Abuse©(2005); The Creative Personal: A Guide for Mental Health Counselors to Incorporate the Expressive Arts in Therapy©(2009); Priming the Pump: Expressive Writing for Health and Well-being©(2013); Assessment for Anxiety Disorders and Counselor Diary©(2018). Dianne Taylor Dougherty, LCMHC-S also conducts training for corporations and organizations. She has presented nationally and internationally on the use of Expressive Arts in Therapy; Clergy Sexual Abuse; Trauma Recovery; Ethics in Counseling; Healthy Workplace Environments;  and other topics for organizations such as Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina (LPCANC), LPCA of Georgia, Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (FMHCA), American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), American Counseling Association (ACA), US Department of Defense and Department of Labor and International Nathan Network.  Currently Dianne provides seminars for PESI about Expressive Arts and Mindfulness Interventions for Anxiety Disorder. Dianne Taylor Dougherty, LCMHC-S is a published poet and enjoys gardening, playing the piano and painting landscapes of North Carolina. She is an advocate for the Counseling Profession both legislatively and publically on the state and national level.   She has served on the Board of Directors of North Carolina Counseling Association, NC Symphony Friends, and Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina, serving as President 2010-2012.
