KNPI (KY Numeracy Project Intensive) Course

Course Description:

• This course is built around Add+Vantage Math Recovery (AVMR) and is designed for elementary grade Math Intervention Teachers to learn and practice assessments and teaching strategies for advancing students’ foundational number knowledge, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Participants will receive two AVMR kits - one for Part 1 and one for Part 2, as well as course materials from the KCM.  
• MITs who successfully complete every session and assignment will receive certification in AVMR1 and AVMR2. They will also receive a full year of math coaching/support from the KCM.      
• For 2021-22, this Kentucky Numeracy Project Intensive Course includes 10 days of training spread out over 18 two-hour virtual sessions with outside assignments. 

Cost: $2,000/participant
Duration: 18 2-hour sessions 
Location: Virtual ZOOM meetings.

• Participants must be able to fully engage in the live and interactive ZOOM meeting sessions during the dates and times listed below for this KNPI cohort. Sessions are not recorded to be watched at a different time.
• Participants should not be working with students during these KNPI training sessions. If necessary, substitute teachers should be obtained to cover participant's schedule at school.

* Materials will be mailed via UPS directly to each participant’s school. Please be sure to enter your school's physical mailing address when registering (no PO Box numbers) 

Please note: The $2,000 registration fee for this course is non-refundable once materials have been ordered. Should a registered participant find they are no longer able to attend this event, they should find a teacher to take their place and notify the KCM at kcm@nku.edu.
