Event Description
The Oklahoma Travel Industry Association will partner with Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell to produce the 2019 Lt. Governor's Travel & Tourism Summits, which will be held around the state. Each half-day program provides tourism education featuring speakers covering a range of topics on best practices to promote tourism in your region, and includes a townhall-type discussion by the Lt. Governor on tourism development in each of the areas visited around the state.

Our Speakers

Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell
Matt Pinnell was elected Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma on November 6th, 2018 with 62% of the vote and won all seventy-seven counties. He also runs a small business with his wife, Lisa, is an entrepreneur and inventor and attends Redeemer Covenant Church in Tulsa. Before being elected Oklahoma’s 17th Lieutenant Governor, Matt served as Director of State Parties for the Republican National Committee from 2013 to 2017, and served as Chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party from 2010 to 2013. Matt is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and lives in Tulsa with his wife, Lisa, and 4 children who attend Jenks Public Schools.

Andrea Leitch
Chief Marketing Officer, Oklahoma Aquarium
Andrea Leitch is the Chief Marketing Officer for the Oklahoma Aquarium. Formerly, she was the Senior Director of Travel for National Geographic Partners where she oversaw the digital strategy for NatGeoTravel.com across multiple platforms. Prior to National Geographic, she worked as an online editor and writer for Bethesda Magazine and TulsaPeople Magazine. You can follow her @andrealeitch. 






Jon Skelly
Founder and Chief Storyteller, Journey Media
Jon Skelly is the founder and chief storyteller at Journey Media, a consulting firm specializing in helping individuals and organizations become masters of the story skill. As a former Fortune 500 Chief Marketing Officer and current head of digital experience, Jon has helped executives, business owners, sales professionals, recruiters and other leaders harness the power of storytelling as they build customer experiences, new products/programs and their overall brands. He has spoken at events across North America, helping people understand the simple, centuries-old principles of a good story – and why that matters to their career and to their company.

David Egan
Cattlemen's Steakhouse
David Egan has been involved in the restaurant business for over 45 years. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management and has a background in operating in drive-in restaurants, fast food and ultra fine dining. From 1978 to 2001, he and Dick Stubbs operated Applewoods Restaurant and Banquet Center. In 1990, Egan and Stubbs took over operations of the iconic Cattlemen’s Cafe in Stockyards area of Oklahoma City, and gave the restaurant new life. Working with local and state convention bureaus, Egan and Stubbs were able to market and advertise Cattlemen’s to become the state’s highest volume single restaurant to sell an iconic experience to outside visitors. 
 





Mike Knopp
Executive Director, Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation
Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation Mike Knopp graduated from the Oklahoma State University with a BBA in economics in 1994. He then completed a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in 1997. In 2003, Knopp left his successful legal career to establish the Oklahoma City University varsity rowing program and assume the position of Executive Director of the Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation. Bringing corporate, civic and community leaders together, Mike has led multiple initiatives to activate the Oklahoma River, including the Boathouse District Master Plan development, Olympic training, community programming and several national and international events. His work continues to greatly impacted Oklahoma’s tourism industry.
