Event Description
The Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) is the only hotel-related certification for industry professionals focused on analytics. Jointly offered by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and it provides recognition of thorough knowledge of the foundational metrics, definitions, formulas, and methodologies used by the hotel industry. It’s core content areas include: Property Level Benchmarking (STAR Reports); Hotel Industry Analytical Foundations; Hotel Math Fundamentals; and Hotel Industry Performance Reports.

CHIA is targeted at lodging industry professionals such as revenue managers, general managers, corporate staff, travel and tourism professionals, trainers and research staff from a variety of organizations including Hotel companies and Hotels, Management companies and owners, Tourism/Travel organizations, Hotel associations, Convention and Visitor Bureaus, Developers, consultants and appraisers, Hotel-related vendors and other organizations serving the hotel industry.

The course will be taught by certified CHIA Instructor David W. Davis, Associate Director/Teaching Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.

This two-day course will be held on:
  • Thursday, July 26 • 11:00am - 5:00pm, and
  • Friday, July 27 • 8:00am - 6:00pm
Course Fees:
  • $545 AH&LA Member
  • $595 Non-Member



Due to course minimums, there will be a firm registration cut-off date of July 16.  
A minimum of 4 people must enroll in order for us to hold the course.

Session Information
The Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association will offer this session to members and non-members as a way to provide hoteliers an effective way to study together in a group dynamic and take the exam immediately following the session when the information is fresh and top of mind.

Candidates who do not achieve a 70% score are allowed to retake the exam up to two additional times at a cost of $50 per attempt. Recertification is every 5 years.
