We're excited to announce the International Women's Day Celebration on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo. Hosted by the museum and supported by the WAI Land of Enchantment Chapter (Women in Aviation International), this family-friendly event celebrates the incredible achievements of women in space, STEM, aviation, and aerospace while inspiring the next generation—especially young girls—to pursue careers in these exciting fields.
The day will feature:
All-day access to the museum's exhibits
Interactive STEM booths and hands-on activities
Planetarium star shows throughout the day
A special guest speaker (details coming soon!)
Prizes, food trucks, vendors, and much more!
To make this event truly shine, we need enthusiastic volunteers like you! Volunteer roles may include assisting with check-in, helping at activity booths, supporting vendors/food trucks, guiding families, or other event support tasks. In appreciation, all volunteers receive free admission to the museum and full event access.
If you're passionate about empowering women and girls in STEM, aviation, and beyond—or simply want to contribute to a meaningful community event—this is a great opportunity to get involved!
Spots fill up fast, so please reserve your spot soon. If you have any questions about volunteering, feel free to reply to this email or reach out to Jacquelyne Nichols at jnichols53e@gmail.com.
