Event Description
The Launch Pad Lecture Series shines a spotlight on New Mexico’s rich contributions to space, while connecting them to the larger story of space exploration. Each month, museum staff and invited guest speakers from across the many disciplines that make spaceflight possible share engaging presentations that honor local history and inspire curiosity about humanity’s journey beyond Earth.

The Launch Pad Lecture Series takes place on the first Friday of every month and is free for everyone to attend. Each program features museum staff and occasional special guest speakers exploring topics from space history to the future of space exploration.​

Held in the New Horizons Dome Theater on the campus of the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, this program is open to the public at no cost. Coffee and donuts are provided to make your visit even more enjoyable, courtesy of the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation.
