Dr. Rebecca Falender and Dr. Ryan Scholz will present “ Avian Influenza A (H5) Surveillance in Oregon” This presentation will highlight the collaborative efforts between Oregon Department of Agriculture, Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Fish and Wildlife, Oregon State University, and our federal partners to perform comprehensive avian influenza surveillance in Oregon. This covers the emergence of avian influenza in Oregon, the identification of avian influenza in two pigs in the fall of 2024, active and passive monitoring of wild and domestic birds and livestock, bulk tank milk (BTM) surveillance, and wastewater surveillance for influenza A and the H5 subtype. This review presents the findings from avian influenza surveillance conducted across Oregon since the emergence of clade 2.3.4.4b in 2020.

This webinar has been granted up to one hour of CE credit by RACE. Participants must be active members of the ACVPM or its partner organizations and must participate for at least 50 minutes of the webinar to receive a one hour CE certificate.
